This is the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation's own list, read on the date shown. A listing is a fact about the register on that date, not an assessment of the institution. The register covers banks only, so a credit society or Nidhi company will not appear on it.

Check for yourself before acting
- Ask the institution for the current rate in writing. Published rates change without notice.
- Ask what you would receive if the account is closed early.
- Ask how interest is calculated and when it is credited.
- Check the DICGC insured-bank list yourself on the day you decide.
Pigmity is independent and is not affiliated with Bellary District Coop Central Bank. This is not the institution's page, not an official register, and not a recommendation.
Each fact shows its source, the date Pigmity read it, and whether the source states an effective date. “Not publicly stated” means the reviewed source was read and does not give the fact. “Not established” means Pigmity has not established it. Neither means no.

Pigmity's analysis
₹10 opens the account. ₹5, or any multiple of ₹5, keeps it going. The minimum term is a year.
Ballari DCC Bank, headquartered in Hosapete in Ballari district, states that its pigmy deposits are collected by agents the bank appoints, who call on depositors at home or at work at intervals that suit them. An adult may open singly or jointly, and a nomination is recorded on application.
Two banks, one page
Read this beside South Canara DCC Bank's Nithya Dhara scheme and the wording is almost the same: agent collection, the ₹10 opening, the ₹5 instalments, and the interest method.
That points to a common template rather than two schemes designed separately. Two pages cannot show how widely a template is used, but they do suggest that where one district bank's terms are unclear, a neighbouring bank's may show what to ask.
The shared gap is the rate. Interest is described as paid on the "monthly products" of the balance, which says it accrues on the running balance and does not say what it is. We did not review the bank's general rate page, so the rate is recorded as not publicly stated on the page we read.
Borrowing against it
The bank lends against a pigmy balance up to 75% of the deposit including interest, at 12% a year above the rate paid on the deposit. Since the deposit rate is not on the page, a saver cannot work out the loan rate from it either.
Where it sits
The bank is a district central co-operative bank, listed in the DICGC insured-bank register under the older spelling Bellary, in the list updated on 8 September 2026.
Questions
- What does it cost to open a pigmy account at Ballari DCC Bank?
- ₹10 opens the account, and instalments after that are ₹5 or multiples of ₹5, for a minimum term of 12 months, on the page read on 10 September 2026. The scheme exists to collect amounts too small for anyone to take to a branch.
- Why does this page read like South Canara DCC Bank's?
- The two banks' scheme pages are nearly identical in their wording on agent collection, the ₹10 opening deposit, ₹5 instalments and the interest method. That suggests a shared template. Two pages are not enough to say how widely such a template is used, so read each bank's own terms.
